About the Scriptures Back to Top
We believe in the verbal (very word) and plenary (complete) inspiration of the Scriptures in the original manuscripts; that the Old and New Testaments are equally inspired and without error or contradiction; that the Scriptures are the believer's only rule of faith and practice; that they are accurate and reliable in science, history, and every other matter they discuss; that we have the complete revelation of God to man in the sixty-six books of the Bible as it now stands; and that anyone who adds to or takes away from this completed revelation is cursed by God. (Psalms 19:7-11;119:89,105; Mark 13:31; John 17:17; 1 Corinthians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16,17; II Peter 1:20-21; Revelation 22:18-19)

About God Back to Top
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Exodus 20:2, 3; I John 5:7; Matthew 28:19, 20; II Corinthians 13:14; I Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11)

A) God the Father

We believe that God the Father is Father only to those who receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour; that He is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power; that He concerns Himself in the affairs of men; that he is the author of our salvation; that He hears and answers prayer; that He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent; and that He is the object of our worship and praise. (Psalm 65:2; 139:1-24; 147:5; Matthew 5:45; 6:24-34; John 3:16; 14:6; I Timothy 2:5)

B) God the Son

We believe in the absolute Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; His eternal existence as God; His incarnation by means of the virgin birth; that He is True God and True Man; His sinlessness; His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; His literal bodily resurrection; His ascension; His present high-priestly ministry in Heaven for believers; and His personal, visible return to earth. (I John 2:1; 5:20; John 1:18; Hebrews 1:8; 9:14; Matthew 1:18-5; I Peter 2:22; Acts 10:40, 41; Luke 24:51; I Thessalonians 4: 16)

C) God the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine person, equal and of the same nature to the Father and Son; that He convinces the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; that he bears witness to the truth; that He is the agent of the New Birth; that He restrains the evil one; that He baptizes all true believers into the body of Christ, indwelling, sanctifying, sealing and securing them unto the day of redemption; that He endues, guides, teaches, and helps believers; and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit, the evidences being love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; not speaking in tongues. (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 2:18; John 3:5-7; 14:16, 17, 26; Galatians 5:22-
23; I Peter 1:23),

About Creation Back to Top
We believe the Genesis account of creation as a literal, historical account of the direct, immediate creative acts of God, without the involvement of any evolutionary process. (Genesis 1:1-2,25; Colossians 1:16; John 1:3-10)

About Man Back to Top
We believe that God created man in His own image; that man willfully sinned, thereby incurring both physical and spiritual death; that all men are totally depraved; that they are born with an inherited sinful nature that is evidenced by sinful acts; and that if man is not born again after the age of his personal accountability to God, he will suffer eternal punishment in the lake of fire. (Genesis 1:26,27; 2:7-3:24; II Samuel 12:23; Matthew 18:10-14; Romans 5:12; 6:23; 8:5-8; Galatians 5:17; Revelation 20:14-15)

About sin Back to Top
We believe that sin is the transgression of the law of God. We believe in the universality of sin; that it separates man from God; and that there is no remission of sin apart from the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Ezekiel 18:4; Luke 24:46,47; Romans 3:10-26; I John 3:4)

About Salvation Back to Top
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, as it is appropriated by faith; that all who receive Him are regenerated instantaneously by the Holy Spirit and become children of God; that no rite, ceremony, or work can avail for the sinner's salvation or make the believer's salvation more secure; that Christ is the only and all-sufficient Saviour; that the believer is legally justified by God; that sanctification is an act at the moment of regeneration and a process throughout life whereby God conforms the believer to the image of Christ; that every believer has two natures, the old and the new, which are in constant conflict, and that victory is only wrought in the life to the degree that the child of God submits to the Word and the Holy Spirit; that all who are saved are kept forever by the power of God, and shall be changed into His likeness when Christ comes for the church. (Ephesians 2:8, 9; 1:3,4; Titus 3:5-7; John 5:24; 1:12; 10:28, 29; Hebrews 9:14, 15; I Peter 1:5; II Corinthians 5:17; Romans 5:1, 8, 9; 8:1; 8:29; 7:15-25; I Corinthians 15:51-54)

About Church Back to Top
We believe that the church exists in two aspects:

A) Organism

We believe that the church as an organism is the body of Christ, His bride, composed of all the redeemed. We believe that Christ gave Himself for the Church; that He is the only true head of the organism. (I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:20.23; Co1ossians 1:18)

B) Organization

We believe that the establishment, continuation, and emphasis of the local Church is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament. We believe that the church as an organization is an assembly of baptized believers, voluntarily associated by covenant in the faith for fellowship, worship, and service; that its mission is the spread of the Gospel to all men and to earnestly contend for the faith. We believe that its officers are pastor(s) and deacons whose qualifications, claims, and duties are clearly set forth in the Scriptures. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations, religious or governmental; that its only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit; that it is Scriptural for true churches to cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the Gospel; and that each local church is the sole judge in the measure and methods of its cooperation. On all matters of membership, policy, government, discipline, benevolence, and rule, the will of the local church is final. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 14:27 ; I Corinthians 3:9-17; 16:19; Galations 1:2;I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11; Revelation 2-3)

About Ordiances Back to Top
We believe that there are two Christian ordinances and that they are symbolical, not sacramental: Baptism and the Lord's Table.

A) Baptism

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that it sets forth in picture the essential facts in redemption-death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that it gives testimony to what has taken place in the heart of the believer-death to sin and resurrection to walk in newness of life. Baptism after salvation is an act of obedience and is a prerequisite for local church membership. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Romans 6:4; Acts 2:41; 8:12, 26-39)

B) Lord's Table

We believe that the Lord's Table is a commemoration of the Lord's death to be observed until He comes; that the elements-the bread and the fruit of the vine-are symbols of His broken body and shed blood, and that our observance of it is a pictorial testimony of the believer's fellowship with the crucified Saviour and should be preceded by solemn, heart-searching and self-judgment. (Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Corinthians 10:16-21; 11:17-34)

About Satan Back to Top
We believe in the personality of Satan, the fallen Lucifer, the Devil; that he is the author of sin, the initiator of man's temptation and ultimate fall; that he is the god of this present world; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; that his final doom along with his hosts shall be eternal punishment in the lake of fire. (Job 1:6,7; Isaiah 17:12-17; Matthew 4:1-11; 25:41; Revelation 12:9,10; 20:1,2, 7-10)

About Beings Back to Top
We believe that demons and the angels of heaven are created spirit beings. Demons are angels who were created as heavenly hosts, but through choice are now the hosts of Satan and will share in his ultimate doom. The angels of heaven, ministering spirits, are sinless and pure and are forever seeking to praise God in their ministries for Him and His people. Their ministries, ranks, orders, and essential natures differ; and their strength, appearance, travel, etc., are not bound by natural human laws. They are immortal and do not marry. (Matthew 18:10; 22:30; Mark 5:2; 8:38; Colossians 1:16; I Thessalonians 4:16; Hebrews 1:14; II Peter 2:4; Jude 6,9)

About Future Back to Top
We believe that God has disclosed the general order of future events in His Word.

We believe that sin will wax worse and worse until the heavenly return of Christ for His saints (imminent, pre-tribulation rapture). This will be followed by a seven-year period of tribulation on earth, with the judgment seat of Christ and the marriage supper of the Lamb taking place in heaven for the Lord and His church. Following this period the Lord will return to earth with His saints (pre-millenial return of Christ) to put down the forces of evil and to cast Satan into the bottomless pit for one thousand years. The Lord will set up His millennial kingdom of righteousness on earth.

We believe that at the conclusion of this period, Satan will be loosed on earth for a short period and deceive the hearts of many. The Lord will then bring about Satan's final and everlasting defeat. Eternal damnation is ushered in with the Great White Throne judgment of the unsaved. The saints of God shall dwell forever with Christ in eternal peace and joy. (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28, 29; II Corinthians 5:10; Phillippians 3:20,21; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; II Thessalonians 2:1-10; Revelations 1:19; 19:9-13; 20:1-22:6)

About Missions Back to Top
We believe that all men are lost and bound for eternal punishment in a literal lake of fire, and that God has commanded us to proclaim the Gospel at home and abroad. To fulfill His command we must be witnesses by life and word, and must further support by prayer and financial aid those we send forth under Biblically -sound missionary agencies to represent us in other parts of the world.

We believe that the primary thrust of New Testament missions is sending out men to preach God's Word and establish local, indigenous, self-supporting churches to the glory of God. (Romans 1:18-20; 10:14,17; Acts 1:8; 13:1-3; Matthew 28:19-20)

About Stewardship Back to Top
We believe that stewardship is the active recognition of the Lordship of Christ over the believer, and that it is our joyous duty and honor to give back to the Lord our tithes, offerings, talents, and time. (Malachi 3:10; Genesis 28:22; I Corinthians 4:4; l6:1-3; II Corinthians 8:2-8)

About the Security of the Believer Back to Top
We believe that all who truly receive Christ as Lord and Saviour are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever.

We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word; which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion for the flesh. (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1,38,39; 13:13,14; I Corinthians 1:4-8; Titss 2:11-15; 1 Peter 1:5)

About Sunday Back to Top
We believe that in this age of grace, the Lord's Day, which is the first day of the week, the day of the Lord's resurrection, is the proper day for Christian worship and service, and that it should be kept sacred to spiritual purposes by abstinence from all unnecessary secular labor and other activities unbecoming to such a day. (Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 16:1, 2; Colossians 2:13-17; Hebrews 10:25; John 20:1,19,26; Mark 16:2; Matthew 28:1; Luke 24:1)

About Gifts Back to Top
We believe the Scriptures teach that every believer since the beginning of the church at Pentecost receives the Holy Spirit at salvation. This same Spirit gives spiritual gifts unto the believer as He wills, and these are given for the good and edification of the church. In the beginning of the church some gifts were given of a temporary nature and are thus no longer given. Some of these temporary gifts were revelatory, providing oral revelation while the New Testament was being completed. These gifts included apostles, prophets, tongues, interpretation of tongues, the word of knowledge, and the word of wisdom. Some gifts were confirmatory signs, vindicating the spokesman of God, while the other gifts mentioned in the New Testament should be operative in the church today. (I Corinthians 12:11-25; 13:8-12; 14:22-26; 12:9,28; Hebrews 2:2, 3; Romans 12:7-8)

About Believer Back to Top
We believe that every person who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is a priest of God; that through Christ's blood we are able to enter into the Holy of Holies, God's presence, and present our praise and petitions in His name; that Jesus Christ is the Great High Priest of our faith; and that every believer has the spiritual capability and responsibility to discern the wisdom, knowledge, and will of God. (II Peter 2:5,9; Hebrews 10:10-20; 5:5-10; 9:15; I Timothy 2:5; Romans 12:1,2)

About Civil Government Back to Top
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment, for the interest and good order of human society; that those in authority are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed, except only in things opposed to the direct and revealed will of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that each individual Christian should be an active, conscientious citizen; but that the church and state must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from the dictation and/or patronage of the other. (Romans 13:1-7; Genesis 9:5, 6; I Timothy 2:2-3; 4:19,20; Acts 5:27-9; Matthew 22:21)
